Please Stand By, Again

The Bus is still plagued with connection problems. My internet connection is rarely up for more than five minutes and for the past few days I have lost the use of my phone.

Comcast says they are working on it, but the service tech was a no show today.

Hopefully, the Bus will be back on the road soon.

Whoopie!
Our crap quality cable/internet company is selling out to Comcast. Now I see what we're in for. Even more crap quality!
Hopefully the tech will show up wth a little carb cleaner and get your bus running again. I start to get the shakes if my internet goes down for more than a day.

This morning's newspaper had a wire service story about a woman (in Virginia, I believe)who wnet to the Comcast offices and used a hammer to wreck a computer and a phone. She was arrested and has become something of a Robin Hood figure.

Reminds me of a poem by Richard Brautigan:

ATTILA AT THE GATES OF THE TELEPHONE COMPANY

They said that
my telephone
would be fixed
by 6.
They guaranteed
it.

Beer, sometimes it feels like we are all living in Orson Wells’ ‘Oceania’, but that is another story.

John, normally I would agree with KJK. I have had Comcast cable TV and internet for over a dozen years and a few years ago I added VOIP phone service. Overall, I am pleased with the services and have only had a few minor troubles over the years.

Ken, Honking Duck is a great resource. I could have sworn I posted a link to them long ago. Perhaps I should add it to the permanent resources in the right panel.

Jim, I did see that wire service story this morning, and after the trouble I’ve had for the past few days, I was cheering that woman on.
