So Long, Rumble

I have just learned that Link Wray has died.
Head on over to Spread the Good Word for the good Reverend Frost's excellent obituary and some mp3s.
Then get on over to PCL LinkDump for lots of good Link Wray tributes and links.

Rumble on.

... yes indeed, ahead of his time, should be considered as the father of the power chord. Thanks for the nice spin-off to the others for more info!

Don't forget his mastery of distortion and feedback. He passed on Nov. 5th at age 76. Verrrrry sad.

This must have been where your site came to my attention. Link was given the Vancouver Shakedown as he attempted cross the frontier into Dope City just a few months before his death. The border guards prevented old time Link from entering our peaceful land of classical music lovers. We are so lucky to have those border guards protecting us from rock 'n' roll.
